Gen 1:26 God spoke: "Let us make human beings in our image, make them

reflecting our nature So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the

air, the cattle, And, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of

Earth."

Gen 1:27 God created human beings; he created them godlike, Reflecting God's nature.

He created them male and female. (KJV)

It is of high importance that you understand fully the mystery of the

creation. An awful number of us still have different notion about the

creation that are WRONG! When i ask people often time what they

understand about God creating us in his own image. The response i get

are always unsuprisingly similar, they say things like “Our looks are

different from that of the animals” “He created us with different

Genders” “We look like God” and all sorts. Think of it this way, if indeed

we being male and female was what was so special about the creation

then how come other low life animals are created male and female? If

indeed it was our look that makes us distinct from other animals (if indeed our physical

appearance is like that of God) why dont we all look alike?

When God said “let us create man in our own image”, he meant indeed that we

should be different. Read between the lines “let us create man in our own image” this

means, there were people with God when God made this statement. He wasnt just talking

to himself, the book of revelations gives us a clearer picture, there were the seven elders

with him, there were angels with him, there were creatures as described in revelations.

Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the

midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before

and behind.

Rev 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third

beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of

eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God

Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Rev 4:9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the

throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

Rev 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and

worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne,

saying,

Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast

created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.(KJV)

There were beasts that had eyes all over, look at the description of those people, and still

God told them “let us create man in our own image”. We do not have eyes all over, we donot have horns, we do not have wings. Which means it wasnt the

looks that God was after. What was it? It was something we have

in common with those people,

God, Jesus and even angels.

It is our “mind” yes the

MIND! Before any further

emphasis can be laid, you have to

agree with me that Gods gift to

us, is actually our mind.

Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in

Christ Jesus(KJV)

Which means, Jesus also had(have) this mind. And the bible

even admonishes us that we should let the mind that was in christ be in us. In a way which

we would look at later in this book, all the miracle Jesus did, the actons he took, the words

he said, his mind was actively involved. The book of romans makes us understand that even

God have a mind.

Rom 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his

counsellor?(KJV)

No wonder God said in revelations that he is the lord who searches all minds.

` Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.(KJV)

Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know

that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you

according to your works(KJV)

1Ch 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve

him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and

understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of

thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.(KJV)

What could he probably search for in the mind? He gave an answer to that when he said in

the book of jeremiah where said he will put the law in their minds.

Jer 31:33 but this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those

days, says Jehovah, I will put My Law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and

I will be their God, and they shall be My people(KJV)

No wonder he said he would search all minds. This means, whether or wherther not you

keep the commandment has to do with your mind, whether you are a christian or not has to do with your mind. You dont deceive nobody by going to church always. I like how the bible

version MSG sorted those category of people out.

Jer 17:10 But I, GOD, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of

the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend

to be."(MSG)

Now that the basis has been set, and i believe all doubts have been cleared. God

creating us in his image meant him giving an attibute that is spectacular to him which is the

mind. I was asking myself question days back, why is God so concerned about the mind?

Then i was made to understand that the mind, despite small, holds a very big mystery. To

understand why God is so particular about the mind one has to undestand the mystery of

the mind.

THE MYSTERY OF THE MIND

As christians, if we claim to be created in Gods image it means, wired in our DNA is

God’s DNA, Flowing through your vein is the blood that was shed on the cross. It will take

great effort for you to fail. If you are a failure then you must have really struggled to fail. You

are designed to prosper, you are designed to be successful, you are designed to be

victorious. This doesnt mean everything will always turn out well, the bible didnt say that by

his stripes we wont fall sick, what it says is, by his stripes we’re healed. The bible says we

shall be the head and not the tail. This for most christians is only theoretical. Then we ask

ourselves if all this things are true, why then do i remain the way i am? Am i not Gods son?

Am i not in his image? The answer is simple! You have defiled his image!

Quite a number of christians have defiled Gods image, your mind is meant to be a

place where you receive interpretations to deep spiritual secrets, where the holy spirit

drops ideas.

1Ch 28:12 He turned over the plans for everything that God's Spirit had brought to

his mind: the design of the courtyards, the arrangements of rooms, and the closets for

storing all the holy things.(KJV)

lots of christians have turned it into a dump site for bad thoughts, imaginations.

Little wonder some people would pray expecting answers to their prayer claiming to have

faith when the mind is messed up! God cant even search your mind, its too disgusting for

him to concern himself with. Lots of christians have defiled, polluted his image, can God

search our mind today and draw a conclution like he did Jesus “This is my beloveth son with

whom i’m well pleased” Jesus has kept his image right.

Addictions, bad habits, lies, stealing, every bad thing you can think of all started from

the mind. For someone who claims to be addicted to masturbating, the truth is, before you

started masturbating in the physical, your mind had already done most of the job, your mind has created the picture, your mind has drawn a conclusion, all that

is left is for your body to actualize what your mind has visualize, which it

will willingly do! A perfect example was david, david had a typical issue

with fornication, he had to marry and sleep with every beautiful woman

he lay his eyes on. His problem started at his balcony where the bible

recorded that he stood and watched a naked lady having his bath. Instead of him to restrain

his eyes, he decided to keep feeding it, as he did this, his mind started creating pictures,

things he could do, he started imagining and he made a conclusion in his mind,all that was

left is for the body to act it out! Job says something shocking in job 31:1

Job 31:1 "I made a solemn pact with myself never to undress a girl with my

eyes.(MSG)

Before his hands undresses the girl, the eyes has seen and the mind has created an image of

an undressed girl! No wonder he had to create a convenant with his eyes never to do that

again. He must have realised he was defiling God’s image.

Gen 3:6 When the Woman saw that the tree looked like good eating and realized

what she would get out of it--she'd know everything!--she took and ate the fruit and then

gave some to her husband, and he ate.(MSG)

Another interesting example was Eve, when devil tempted Eve, what devil did was to

create an atmosphere in which Eve would herself allow her mind to create pictures(imagine)

how pleasant the fruit would be, how good it would be to finally be like God. She had not

even tasted the fruit, how then did she know that it was good eating? What she allowed her

mind imagine made her come to that conclusion. She defiled Gods image! (Gen 6:5)

The book of corinthians makes us understand that there is a need to always keep our

mind and thoughts right.

2Co 10:5 pulling down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the

knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought

into the obedience of Christ;(KJV)

Every action you take in life, have at one time passed through

your mind, as a matter of fact, you acted the way you did

because your mind concluded it. For most of us, what influences

our imaginations and thoughts is the devil. In form of fear! But

you need not worry about that present circumstance, you need

not worry about consequence, you need not worry about

situations that seem unpleasant. The devil has no power over youHeb 2:14 Since then the children have partaken of flesh and

blood, He also Himself likewise partook of the same; that through

death He might destroy him who had the power of death (that is, the

Devil) (KJV) He had (past tense) he no longer has.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All

authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth(KJV)

Now make this your assurance. All authority has beengiving to

him. Feel free to make the confessions that david made.

Psa 49:3 my mouth shall speak of wise things; and the thoughts of my

heart shall be of understanding.(KJV)

Psa 94:19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me Your comforts delight my

soul.(KJV)

Psa 139:17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of

them!(KJV)

Whatever difficulty you are going through, all you need is

the right mindset. You can understand that subjects/course, you

can heal the sick, you can do the impossibe. Just have right

mindset. Make your thoughts holy. Bad thoughts will come like

flying beds, do not let them build nest on your head. Wave them off

with words like Jesus did in mat 4:4, mat 4:10 e.t.c.
